My Podcast Journey: Celebrating Amazing Authors! 

I'm thrilled to share my venture into the podcast world! After dreaming about starting a podcast since 2014, I finally took the plunge in 2025. The learning curve has been steep, from mastering interview techniques to getting comfortable with hearing my own voice but it's been an incredible journey.

 

After researching various hosting platforms like Buzzsprout, Podbean, and Simplecast, I chose Riverside.fm for its beginner-friendly interface and high-quality recording capabilities. With my ATR2100xusb microphone, Nubwo headphones, and plenty of YouTube tutorials under my belt, I was ready to dive in. Let's dive in and Meet My Featured Authors!

 

I want to thank each author who carved time out of their busy schedule to sit down and share their stories with me. Thank you for sharing your author journey, tips on marketing and publishing, and what it means to be successful as an author. 

K.D. Williams - My First Guest

In March 2025, I had the pleasure of interviewing K.D. Williams for my debut episode. Our conversation was absolutely fantastic as we explored her writing journey, timing strategies, brand building, and how she's leveraging social media with just one book.

TL Combs - A Multi-Talented Creative

My second interview featured the fabulous TL Combs, and what an engaging conversation we had! TL shared her journey as an indie author, her unique writing process, and her exciting venture into different genres. Beyond writing, she's also a talented artist and trained chef who's currently diving into rom-com inspired by Jane Austen.

 

About TL: With nearly two decades as a classically trained chef, TL worked in multiple restaurants and catering companies before starting her own catering business. She even served as a Certified Dietary Manager in healthcare. In 2015, she married her soulmate, M.

Writing has been TL's passion since childhood in Pennsylvania, where she crafted short stories for family and friends. Everything changed when she began daydreaming about a high fantasy story that evolved into the Bellham Series. Encouraged by her best friend H.E.G, she transformed that daydream into reality.

Katie Cross - A Prolife Author with an exceptional mind 

My next interview brought me to the awesome Katie Cross, who is truly a staple in the author community. I first came across Katie doing an interview years ago, and she was discussing concepts I hadn't heard of at the time, like direct sales, owning your IPs (intellectual properties), and getting those IPs off Amazon and directly into your customers' hands. There was also another author (Pierre Alex Jeanty) talking about direct sales, but I didn't discover him until a year later. I'm sure there were others, but Katie was the first person to introduce me to these game-changing concepts.

 

About Katie Cross: Katie Cross is a prolific author with over 90 titles to date. She has written books across multiple genres including YA Fantasy, Contemporary Romance, and Chick Lit. Recently, Katie has moved into the Clean Romantasy genre. You can find her latest book on her website. 

 

Outside of writing romantasy, Katie is hard at work turning her books into audiobooks from her very own in-house studio, and she's incredibly talented at it! She's not shy about sharing her audiobook recording process on TikTok, giving aspiring authors a behind-the-scenes look at professional audiobook production.

 

Katie has a wealth of knowledge about the publishing industry and author business strategies. She's extremely popular when it comes to doing interviews, and you can find seven or more of her interviews on YouTube from throughout the years, each packed with valuable insights for indie authors.

Evelyn Sola - Journey From Reader to Author 

I recently interviewed the fantastic Evelyn Sola. I had been following Evelyn on social media and became intrigued by her videos and books. In our conversation, Evelyn detailed her love for the written word and how that eventually led to her penning her first novel with encouragement from family, friends, and her wonderful husband. When COVID hit, Evelyn took the plunge, wrote her first book, and uploaded it to Amazon in 2020.


About Evelyn Sola: Evelyn Sola has penned 18 titles in five years. That's a remarkable accomplishment. She writes interracial romance with genres in sports romance and romantic comedies. Outside of writing, Evelyn has a strong social media presence, but her success stems from not only showing the world her beautiful personality but also growing her IP (Intellectual Property) and expanding those IPs into her bookstore.

Keta Kendric: An Author Journey from Military to Manuscript.

I had the pleasure of interviewing the fantastic Keta Kendric. I first came across her work while browsing for something to read, and her book Twisted Mind immediately grabbed my attention. After getting the book and diving in, I fell in love with both the characters and the story. It featured one of the most engaging storylines I had encountered up to that point, and I immediately devoured the other books in the series. I've been a devoted fan ever since, having re-read the Twisted Mind series at least eight times, possibly more. It's truly a must-read series.

About Keta Kendric: Keta Kendric has authored 22 titles and specializes in interracial romance featuring strong male and female characters. She particularly enjoys writing about complex characters, especially the "bad guys" who add depth and intrigue to her stories.

Keta's compelling fight sequences draw from her military training and real-life experiences, bringing authenticity to her action scenes. She's also savvy about marketing, using TikTok as her primary tool for promoting her books.

Lula White: From Beach Writing to Bestsellers

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the fantastic Lula White. I first discovered her during a podcast interview where she shared her journey into writing and her lifelong passion to see her stories in print. After following the traditional path through school and college, she built a successful career as an attorney before transitioning to writing and publishing her first sci-fi novel in 2013 under a different pen name.

 

About Lula White: Writing as Lula White, she has authored the beloved Sag Harbor Black Romance series, with The Men of Hampton as a spin-off. Her books focus on the Black experience, featuring strong, successful characters as they navigate relationships, heartache, and family bonds.

Naomi Rawlings: From Traditional to Indie Author Success

I recently interviewed the fabulous Naomi Rawlings. I came across Naomi a few years ago when she did an interview on another podcast in which she talked about how she went from making a few dollars a month in sales as an indie author to tripling her sales by implementing a strategic advertising and marketing strategy.

 

About Naomi Rawlings: Naomi was a traditional author before moving into the indie space, where she has now found tremendous success. Naomi has authored 18 titles in Christian Romance. She attributes her success to having a recognizable brand, her email list, and her connections with her readers.

 

Her Work: The Eagle Harbor Series is by far the series that has garnered her the greatest success. The series has now sold over half a million copies and counting. The series is available for purchase on Amazon and through her personal website, where you can see what her branding is all about.
